it's flush KK.. really you'll want to try to get the area around it hot not the bolt so hot.. If you get the bolt to hot the easy-out will just strip the bolt again.. becareful if it's alum..
Don't ya just hate that stuff. Everything depends on what the materials are and where they are situated. Somtimes heating shrinks the hole making it tighter. Easy outs are finiky too make sure it's a quality one. If it is a steel bolt in an aluminum case then use lots of penetrant and as far as heat just use a heat gun if you can and possibly some cold spray for the bolt. Good luck and when all else fails helicoil to the rescue.

I'm with kawi kid... get a washer the size of the broken bolt, then try and lay it over the bolt and weld a nut to the bolt, and have the tools ready and turn the nut while the bolt is still hot... The washer is there to protect the case,

The frustration with poor quality far outlasts the instant satisfaction of a low price

Cripes... Canadian tire has a broken bolt and strip bolt remover kit for about $15.00 or so. Get that and it works. Plus you will be using it time and time again...

What size bolt is it? For instance, If it's a M8X1.75 ,then the TDS would be 6.8 MM. If you got room, drill it out with a little bit smaller the 6.8 so that you don't touch the treads. Or if it's a bigger bolt, maybe you can drill a hole and tread a left handed tread in there and screw it out that way. It all depends on what you have for tools, and what is the situation.
