Jumping into the offroad world is exciting—but it can also be a bit overwhelming. Many of us started on small ATVs and worked our way up. These days, your first ride might be a powerful side-by-side, and that’s a whole different beast.
Here’s a tip from someone who’s been riding and leading groups for over 30 years:
👉 Start small.
Join a small group of riders who are at a similar experience level. Big groups can be fun, but they often include everyone from beginners to experts—and that can make it hard to keep up or feel safe.
I’ve led rides where some folks felt 15 km/h was too fast, while others wanted to push 50 km/h. That’s a big difference!
✅ Ride with people who match your pace
✅ Take time to learn the trails and your machine
✅ Don’t feel pressured to go faster than you’re comfortable
The goal is to enjoy the ride, stay safe, and build confidence. The trails will always be there—ride smart and have fun! 🛻🌲💨
